Instead, it’s quite simple: the top four teams from each of the four divisions will make up the 16 playoff squads. From there, the top seed in each division faces the fourth seed, while the second faces the third. The winners face off in the second round. WebEach division’s top three teams make the playoffs automatically. For each conference, two additional teams also qualify for the playoffs selected by the highest overall records out of the remaining teams. These teams are playing in the wild cards game.
